My son Mike's House Fire
.mpg download 38MB .wmv download 13MB On Sunday August 2, 2009 Michael Rowan a single dad with 2 children, Destiny and Jacob lost their home to a lighting strike and fire on Kingston Rd here in Crestview. They have lost everything. They all wear glasses and they were lost in the fire. He also lost most of his wood working tools and automotive tools. Michael owns a 6 cylinder 2000 ford Windstar SE and a older model small truck. The transmission is his van is going out and the truck uses 2 quarts of oil a day. He is a cabinet maker and works for a cabinet company out of Freeport and drives a least 100 miles a day to work and back. We took
my son Michaels van in to be looked at Monday and we
no longer need a transmission. The mechanic said the car has too
much wrong with it. And, that it was not safe to drive. It’s not worth
repairing. Michael doesn’t have the money to buy another vehicle. I wish I you
help him but I don’t have the money either. We are also having trouble
finding a house for him to rent. Because the insurance company will only
do a 3 month lease.
We have talked to realtors’ and they’re not getting back with
us. He is looking for a house in the Bob Sikes school district. The Red cross
has helped him some. Sunday night Michael slept in his van… I don’t know who to turn to for
help. Right now Michael and the kids are staying between our house and his
brother Roberts. Michaels
